Phoebe, the dog who spends a week with her trapped friend

That animals are better than people is something we have said many times. His loyalty and unconditional love reaches unsuspected limits. Today we are going to tell you a story that proves this. Our protagonists are called Tillie and Phoebe.

His story is moving, if you keep reading, you can judge for yourself.

The disappearance of Tillie, the setter dog and her friend Phoebe

Tillie, the setter dog and her friend Phoebe live in Washington, United States. One day, Tillie’s owner threw a work party and both Tillie and Phoebe disappeared. We do not know if because of the crowd of people or because they were scared by something or maybe they started playing, but when the party ended and their owner looked for them, neither of the two animals were there.

Soon the search began in the forest near the house of Tillie, the setter dog and her friend Phoebe, but the search did not have many results the first days.

Meanwhile, the two animals did not know how to return home and walked and walked without getting anywhere when. Suddenly, Phoebe fell into a deep cistern, thankfully without water.

The loyalty of Tillie, the setter dog

Tillie, the setter dog, was not willing to leave her “sister” so she stayed by her side the entire time poor Phoebe spent “incarcerated”.

Tillie, the setter dog, went to a nearby place for help every day, but no one could understand what the little animal wanted.

But one day, the animal protection organization Vashon Island Pet Protectors published some photos on Facebook of both dogs to find out if someone had seen them and a report was quickly received from a local neighbor saying that a “reddish” dog (Tillie , the setter dog) had been prowling every day for a week on his property and returning to a nearby creek.

The rescue of Tillie and Phoebe

The owner of the two dogs was happy to have made the decision to notify Vashon Island Pet Protectors, since in a few days they managed to find out where the “sisters” were located.

When they started towards the creek, they soon saw Tillie, the little setter dog sitting next to a cistern and very happy to smell her owner. His owner believed the worst when he did not see Phoebe, but they soon noticed that she was inside the cistern.

Apparently, Tillie, the setter dog, had not only stayed with her without eating or drinking for a week but had gone to ask for help every day to rescue her friend.

Tillie and Phoebe’s happy ending

All a canine heroine. Soon the animals were taken home, who were in very good condition although hungry, cold and somewhat dirty. But a good plate of food, a hot shower and a little love solved all the problems that this traumatic experience caused them to live.

We will never tire of saying how much we love animals, but not as obligated, but as grateful because their love and loyalty outweigh our feelings and they are capable of doing things that many human beings would not be willing to do.

His love, unconditional loyalty, empathy and fidelity have no limits. This has only been one of many stories that demonstrate a reality that although it sounds harsh is true: animals are much better than many people.

And it is that wherever they come from, like everything in this life, their existence has a purpose, and although I have always thought that this was to make our existence happy and make our planet a more beautiful place, I am more and more sure that on top of that, animals are here to teach us lessons.

Sometimes I wonder: what would the world be like if we all imitated animals when it came to love, loyalty and empathy? Can anyone deny that the world would be very different? And then we say that they are the irrational ones …
