Your Dog Rejects Those Who Are Unpleasant To You

Dogs are capable of detecting not only emotions, but they can interpret people’s body language and even ‘decipher’ certain attitudes
Your dog rejects those who are unpleasant to you

Dogs have a reputation for being very intuitive. They have been shown to be able to notice when people around them are sad or happy. They are grateful animals and do not forget the people who have treated them well.

There are also frequent cases of dogs that are faced by those who treat their owners badly. Therefore, it is not strange when your dog rejects those who are unpleasant to you. How do they get this type of information?

Many of the families that adopt a dog assure that their pets are capable of detecting the bad energies of people. They even claim that the animals ‘tried to warn’ about the unfair behavior. The ‘good press’ that dogs have had in Hollywood and in literature has contributed to the perception of this.

The tests carried out

To get these claims out of science fiction, a few years ago at the University of Kyoto they began to study the behavior of dogs. The objective of the investigation was to determine the reaction of several specimens, in front of people who interacted with their owners.

54 dogs were taken for the experiment, divided into three groups. The first batch of animals had to receive food from the hands of people who, in front of them, obviously refused to collaborate with their owners. They could also choose to eat from a container served by a stranger, without any direct interaction with the owner.

A second group had to choose between a trough stocked by a person who was manifestly helping the animal owners, and another served by an unknown and neutral individual.

Dog that will start barking

On the other hand, the third batch of dogs was cared for by two strangers, without any previous interaction with the pets or their owners. All the dogs went through the three test scenarios.

The result

Of the 54 dogs evaluated, only one ate from the container served by someone who eloquently decided not to help its owner, while none of the dogs showed clear preferences between ‘neutral strangers’ and those who did help their owners.

For those responsible for this work it was shown that dogs do not act based on their own interests.  They are able to identify and reject those who snub the human members of their packs.

It’s definite: your dog rejects those who are nasty.

As we can see, it has been proven that the dog rejects those who are unpleasant to their owners. There are also more and more frequent stories of pets that do not forget those who at some point took care of them.

The most surprised are individuals who, after long periods away from the animal, were greeted with effusive displays of affection from the dogs. This no matter how much people have changed during the absences.

A matter of good vibes?

Experts say that, beyond an ability to capture bad intentions, dogs are animals that read body language very well. They also point out that dogs evaluate and even ‘judge’ people based on their behavior and attitude in a holistic way.

Positive dog education

The origin of this type of interaction is in the way in which these mammals relate to each other. The dogs have done nothing more than transfer their ‘social code’ to coexistence with humans.

This pattern is evident when reviewing the behavior of wild herds. The dogs reject and relegate from the groups those specimens that do not collaborate in hunting strategies ; the same applies to those who are constantly aggressive. Bottom line: lazy or violent dogs are ‘socially’ isolated.

What else do dogs perceive from humans?

After a close relationship that exceeds 15,000 years, these pets know everything about humans. The analyzes they carry out go far beyond rejecting people who are unpleasant; They also go beyond just identifying feelings of sadness, joy, or loneliness.

Dogs clearly perceive stress and anxiety. As much as to be affected by it, for which they will show attitudes such as barking uncontrollably, for no apparent reason.

Along with the above, dogs  are able to warn when people have physical or emotional ailments.  They also detect clinical pictures that go from cancer detection to depression.
